Every two years the Venice Biennale showcases contemporary art in a Renaissance setting. This year Frederick Ilchman, chair and Mrs. Russell W. Baker Curator of Paintings, Art of Europe, and Ian Alteveer, Beal Family Chair, Department of Contemporary Art, lead visitors through Venice's national pavilions, thematic displays, special exhibitions, churches, and private palazzi.

Matthew Teitelbaum, Ann and Graham Gund Director, also joins travelers to explore Venice as a crossroads between East and West, ancient and contemporary, and discover how this beautiful Italian city plans to embrace the future.

The trip includes two optional extensions through Sunday, October 20: continue your stay in historic Venice with Frederick Ilchman or travel to Art Basel in Paris with Ian Alteveer.
