American Patchwork Quartet

Led by multi Grammy award鈥搘inning guitarist/vocalist , American Patchwork Quartet (APQ) mixes timeless American folk songs with jazz sophistication, country twang, West African hypnotics, and East Asian ornamentation. APQ鈥檚 lineup includes , an eleventh-generation Hindustani classical vocalist; , an internationally acclaimed Issei jazz bassist; and , a drumming prot茅g茅e of Ellis Marsalis, whose fibers were honed by African American church traditions.
APQ鈥檚 sound is a confluence of tradition and innovation that transcends culture, politics, and ideology. Mirroring America鈥檚 cultural mosaic, APQ stitches together a story that is both intricate and resilient in its songs.

Courtyard seating is limited; low lawn chairs (3 feet or under when unfolded) and/or blankets are recommended. Outside food and beverages and tall chairs are not permitted. All bags are subject to inspection by Museum staff.

Exceptions are made for medical or religious needs. All bags are strongly discouraged, and any bags larger than 11鈥 x 15鈥 must be checked in the Coat Room upon entry.
